Cleanup Work Complete at 1601 Mariposa, Demolition to Continue
We’re pleased to report that the environmental cleanup work for the 1601 Mariposa development was completed during Summer 2016 and demolition is underway.
You may have received an official notice in the mail from the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) announcing that on or around June 13, the work required to remove the underground storage tanks began. This initial work included site preparation, locating utilities and fencing. The tank removal has been completed and Related expects to continue with demolition and remediation work in accordance with approved plans. We have worked closely with DTSC to complete the tasks described in the DTSC Work Notice (which is pasted below). You can read and review the documents providing details about the cleanup on the DTSC website here. To contact DTSC directly for more information, call Tom Lanphar at (510) 540-3776.
Please see the section titled Project Schedule for upcoming project dates and activities that may be of interest. Also under the Project Schedule tab is the Draft Response Plan, for reference.
